Lonesome Ace Stringband brings a powerful blend of old-time, bluegrass, and original songwriting that feels both timeless and refreshingly modern. Rooted in the traditions of fiddle and clawhammer banjo, the band’s sound is driven by the long-standing musical partnership of John Showman (fiddle, vocals) and Chris Coole (banjo, vocals), who have performed together for more than two decades. Their deep musical chemistry was forged during a seven-year residency at Toronto’s Dakota Tavern, where they played ten sets every weekend and built the tight, intuitive interplay they’re known for today.
