County Line

County Line - Westchester Bluegrass Club .jpg

Get ready—County Line Bluegrass is rolling into Purdys on Sunday, June 15, and they’re bringing a no-nonsense, hard-driving, authoritative style of bluegrass that’ll speak straight to your heart and boots.

This seasoned five-piece group plays the real thing: traditional bluegrass with all the lonesome wails, fiery picking, and tight harmony singing you crave. Every member is steeped in bluegrass tradition—and it shows.

Meet the band:

🎤 Dick Bowden (Ulster County) is the group's veteran frontman, guitarist, and emcee. A Maine native and former banjo picker for Joe Val and the New England Bluegrass Boys, Dick brings deep roots and plenty of character.

🎻 David Chernack, rising young star and President of the Hudson Valley Bluegrass Association, tears it up on fiddle and throws in hot mandolin and guitar when the moment strikes.

🎸 Dave Gandin on bass is the glue that holds it down—smooth, strong, and not afraid to slap that upright when the energy gets cookin'.

🪕 Terry McGill, one of the Northeast’s best-known banjo players, brings decades of experience, two solo albums, and authorship of an acclaimed Mel Bay banjo book.

🎶 And on mandolin, the spark plug himself—Ben Fraker. Rooted in Monroe-style tradition, Ben plays with power, taste, and fire, and has shared stages with legends like Charlie Louvin and Andy Statman.

You won’t want to miss this one. These are players who know how to deliver a show that entertains, excites, and honors the tradition.

They’ve been mentored by some of bluegrass’s best—Adam Steffey, Frank Solivan, and Eric Gibson—and studied under the guidance of Ken Irwin, co-founder of Rounder Records, who sees a long future ahead for them.

They’ve already made their mark at Grey Fox, Jenny Brook, Morris Bluegrass Festival, and Daryl’s House Club—and now you’ll have the chance to see them up close at the Westchester Bluegrass Club.

Millions Are Listening

The Zolla Boys aren’t just a hit on stage—they’re a viral success online, too.

Their cover of “I Heard the Bluebirds Sing” has drawn over 1.2 million views, while tracks like “Blue Ridge Mountain Girl” and “Nothing I Can Do About It Now” have each topped 150,000.

With a growing fanbase and heartfelt performances, they’re quickly becoming one of the most exciting young acts in bluegrass today. So bring your friends, bring your family, and come see why so many people across the country—and across the internet—are falling in love with these rising bluegrass stars.
